Elkader Register & Argus, Thur., 12 Nov. 1914.

The death of Mrs. Ole Jellum, of Wagner township, occurred at her home on Tuesday, Nov. 3rd, as the result of a stroke of paralysis, which occurred on Oct. 25th.

Deceased was born in Numendal, Norway, June 20th, 1831, and grew to womanhood in her native land. In 1855 she came to this country and the next year she was married to Mr. Ole Jellum, who preceded her in death July 1st, 1912.

Their marriage was blessed with eleven children, of which eight, with twenty-four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, survive to mourn her death.

Nearly all of her 59 years of life in this country was spent in Wagner township and in her death there passed away one of the good mothers of the community - gone to sleep with full faith in Jesus and in the reward that God has promised the faithful.

The funeral services were held last Friday and she was laid to rest in the Norway church cemetery in the presence of a large number of friends and relatives.

Fare ye well, beloved friends,
Ye whose tears so fast are flowing;
God for all will make amends,
For our griefs are His bestowing.
Mourn not joys that e'en endure,
Heavenly joys alone are sure.

(Note: WPA records show her as Viel Jellum, and her and Ole Jellum's dual headstone can be seen on the IGPP.)
