Viola Olivia Doudney, 90, of Postville died Saturday, January 21, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Center in Waukon. Funeral services were held Saturday January 28 at the Schutte-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Postville.

Viola was born August 30, 1921 in Allamakee County to John and Clara Olivia (Bulman) White. She attended country school near Forest Mills.

Viola was unite in marriage to Harold Doudney Oct 27, 1945 in Waukon. Three daughters were born to this union. Viola farmed alongside Harold for many years. She also made custom drapes for her brother, Howard, in Iowa City and Schutte Furniture Store in Postville for several years. She enjoyed reading, gardening, sewing and raising her family.

Survivors include two daughters, Joyce Olivia (Doug) Fields of Independence, KY and Jane Marie (special friend, Diane Routt) Doudney of Amboy, WA; four grandchildren, Benjamin Fields, Bethany Fields, Daniel Fields and Rebecca Fields; two great grandchildren Owen Riley Fields and Liam Grayson Fields; three siblings, Lee (Ruth) White of Postville, Howard (Martha) White of Longmont, CO, and John (Sharon) White, Jr. of Postville; and two sisters-in-law, Shirley White of Marion and Dorothy White of Grand Rapids, MI.

Viola was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Doudney, in 1993; a daughter, Maryan Doudney, in 2007; her parents, John and Clara White; and two brothers, Milton White and Linton White.

Memorials may be directed to the Good Samaritan Center in Waukon. Condolences may be left at Schutte-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Services website.
