Peter S. Novack was born Oct. 13th, 1840, at Middle Smithfield, Monroe County, in the state of Pennsylvania. He was the son of Philip and Mary Noack.
He grew to manhood in Pennsylvania and on May 4th, 1864, was united in marriage to Emeline Bowman and in 1866 the young couple came to the state of Iowa, where they have lived ever since.
This happy marriage was blessed with seven sons and five daughters, of whom two sons, Samuel and Freddie, preceded their father in death.
He leaves to mourn his departure his faithful wife and the following children: James Noack, Peter Noack, Wm. Noack, Garrison Noack, Charley Noack, Mrs. Ben Morley, and Mrs. John Morarend, all residing in Jefferson township; Mrs. Christ Kickbush, of Osterdock; Mrs. Geo. Kauffman, of Colesburg, and Mrs. John Becker, of Millville township. He also leaves twenty-eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren to mourn the loss of a faithful husband, farther and grandparent.
He was recognized in this community as one of the successful farmers of Jefferson township.
On Saturday morning, Oct. 10th, 1914, the soul passed from this mortal body to the God who gave it. Burial took place on Monday, Oct. 12th, at 10:30 a.m., from his home, and the remains were laid in their last resting place in the Guttenberg cemetery.
Chas. E. Scholz conducted the services and spoke beautifully and consolingly on the life of the deceased

The pall bearers consisted of six sturdy grandsons: Delbert Morley, Samuel Morley, Arthur Morley, Harry Noack, Clay Noack and Lloyd Kickbush.
