Mrs. Malinda M. Cook, wife of Lee F. Cook, passed away at Finley Hospital in Dubuque, on Wednesday afternoon of last week, her death following an illness of eight months duration.
The deceased was born August 30, 1879, at Elkport, Iowa, and had been a resident of Dubuque for the past ten years.
Besides her husband she is survived by two children, Fred H. and Greta M., also by her father, Henry Musfelt, of Elkader, Ia., three sisters and four brothers, Mrs. Wm. J. Moran, of Elkader; Mrs. Robert Bushkofsky, of Littleport, Ia.; Mrs. Lizzie Katschkowsky, William C. Musfelt and H. Koehn, of Elkader; Albert H. Musfelt, of Calgary, Canada and John Koehn, of Luverne, Minn. Mrs. Cook has many friends who greatly mourn her untimely death, and sympathize with the husband and children bereft of a loving and affectionate wife and mother.
The deceased was a member of the Yeoman lodge and Julien Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star of Dubuque.
The remains were brought to Elkader on the Friday evening train, accompanied by Mr. Cook and children and by Mrs. Fred Cook. Services were held at the Wm. Moran home at 9:30 Saturday morning, Rev. K. W. Braun, of Garnavillo, officiating, and the remains were then taken to Garnavillo for interment in the Cook lot.
