Elkader Register & Argus, Thur., 27 Aug. 1914. Strawberry Point column.

Irvin Hydorn Scofield, son of James H. G. and Emma C. Schofield, was born Jan. 28th, 1913, in Putnam township, Fayette County, Iowa, and departed his life August 11, 1914, aged one year, six months and fourteen days. He leaves a father, mother and three brothers to mourn his loss, all of whom live at this place. The funeral was held at the Union church at 11:30 a.m., on August 13, 1914, Rev. Rembold having charge of the service.

(Note: The surname was spelled both ways in the article.)
