Mrs. Augusta Greenwaldt Died at Coon Rapids; Was Guttenberg Native
_______Burial services were held here last Thursday afternoon for Mrs. Augusta Greenwaldt, widow of the late William Greenwaldt. Mrs. Greenwaldt, who died at a Carroll, Iowa, hospital on Monday, February 17, had made her home in Coon Rapids with her sister, Mrs. A. F. Greenwaldt, whose husband died suddenly at the Carroll hospital on the day of Mrs. Greenwaldt’s funeral here.
Mrs. Greenwaldt was born as Augusta Prior in Guttenberg on October 13, 1861. She married William Greenwaldt on May 12, 1892. Mr. Greenwaldt died in Minneapolis, Minnesota, in 1927 and since that time Mrs. Greenwaldt had made her home in Coon Rapids.
To the union two children were born, Esther Lucille and Henry, the latter dying in infancy.
Mrs. Greenwaldt is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Glenn Thomas, of Oxford, Indiana, three grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Anna Grimm of Dubuque and Mrs. A. F. Greenwaldt of Coon Rapids, and a brother, W. E. Prior of Seattle, Washington.
The funeral services here were held at the home of Mrs. Greenwaldt’s nephew, L. W. Abel and burial was in City cemetery. The services were in charge of Rev. S. M. Becker, pastor of St. John Lutheran church.
