—Oscar Beckett of Clayton was killed by a rock falling on him in a stone quarry on a farm near Garnavillo last week. The rock had been undermined by recent rains and fell and struck Beckett on the back, causing instant death.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he is buried in the Clayton Cemetery and was born in 1882.
