STATE NEWS

Near Strawberry Point, a man named Doerfler, and his two boys, were bruning some brush, when the fire came near catching into the fence, and for a while things were lively. After the danger from that source was over, the boys noticed that their father was missing, and after a little searching he was found on the ground dead. It is supposed that he either died from heart disease, or that in over-working he burst a blood vessel inwardly, and died instantly.

Burial is in St. Sebald cemetery, gravestone gives DOD as 05/18/1875.
