Last Thursday morning at 10:30 from the home of Martin Franck the funeral of the late Simon Bonzer took place. Judging from the large crowd at the house and church, Mr. Bonzer was held in high esteem. The remains were laid to rest in the Watson cemetery.
Henry Simon Bonzer was born August 12, 1862 in Giard township. The early days of his life were spent in Brown County, South Dakota.
Two years and nine months ago he was united in marriage with Miss Clara Franck, his sorrowing wife. After his marriage he lived two years in Monona and vicinity.
Last winter he moved on a farm near Lawler. About three weeks ago he went to Minneapolis for medical treatment where death over took him May 28th, his age being 54 years, 8 months and 16 days.
Besides his wife he leaves to mourn two sisters and five brothers together with a large circle of friends and relatives. The Rev. P.F Walter assisted by Rev. E.G. Glaeser of Alma, officiated at the funeral services.
