-- --

Donald Raymond Fett was born January 18, 1898 at Watson, Clayton county, Iowa and passed to the future life December 14, 1918. The early years of the deceased were passed at Watson where his father operated a general store for a number of years. A few years since the family moved to Luana where they engaged in the same business.

About three years ago he attended the Valder Business College at Decorah,, the year following in Business College at Sioux City. For some time he had been suffering from some obscure disease. During the fall he sought relief at the Postville Hospital, where his trouble was quickly diagnosed as diabetes. After a stay of a month he returned to his home in a fair way to recovery.

About two weeks ago the dread influenza set in and his already weakened constitution quickly succumbed to the great destroyer.

Kind and gentlemanly at all times he won friends everywhere. The [illegible] at the hospital learned to respect him for his manly ways. As a singer in the choir he always assumed his duties as a faithful son of the Gospel. His pastor Rev. Williams of Postville will long remember him in this regard a leader of the young people in this department of Church work.

The funeral of course was strictly private on account of the prevailing malady.

He leaves to mourn his early departure his parents, three sisters and one brother Gladys, Myrna, Macial and Carlyle.

The interment was at the family lot in the Watson Cemetery, Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 17. The sympathy of the entire community is with the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fett in their great sorrow.
