Anna Mary Lackaff, daughter of John and Katherine Lackaff, was born March 25th, 1884, near Holy Cross, Dubuque County.
When about three years old she moved with her parents to a farm six miles northwest of Luxemburg, Dubuque County, where she grew to womanhood. On May 17th, 1904, she was united in marriage to Charles G. Wagner at St. Joseph's church, Elkader, Iowa.
To them were born two children, Catherine Magdalena, aged three years and seven months, and Susanna Margareta, aged about twenty-one months.
Mrs. Wagner passed peacefully away into the great beyond at 11:40 p.m. on Dec. 23rd, after an illness of nearly two years, aged 24 years, 8 months and 28 days. Besides her husband and two children she leaves two sisters, Mrs. J. G. Wagner, of Wagner township, and Mrs. Charles Klaskee of Dubuque, and three brothers, Peter, William and John, of Dubuque County, and her father and mother.
The funeral was held at St. Joseph's church Saturday morning at 10 o'clock, interment in St. Joseph's cemetery. A large number of friends and neighbors attended. Mr. Link, of Dyersville, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Klaskee and son Carl, of Dubuque, Mr. and Mrs. John Lackaff, John, Peter and Wm. Lackaff and John Welter, of Luxenburg, and Miss Anna R. Wagner, of Shakopee, Minn., were among those who attended from abroad.
