Mrs. Elizabeth Gruenwaldt, wife of Henry Gruenwaldt, died October 1st, of old age, aged 79 years. Deceased, Elizabeth Wolgust, was born November 26th, 1829, in Kummer, Meeklenburg-Schwerin, Germany, and came to Guttenberg in 1858. On October 26th, 1858, she was married to her surviving husband, Henry Gruenwaldt. After residing here fifteen years they lived on a farm in Jefferson township for twenty-six years, and the past five years the old couple, with the youngest daughter, lived in their new residence in town again. She is survived by her husband and three sons, William and August, of Manning, Iowa, and Arthur, of Merrill, Iowa, and two daughters, Mrs. Ed Abel, of near Monona, and Anna at home. Funeral took place Sunday from St. John's Lutheran church. Interment in the City cemetery.
