Elkader Register & Argus, Thur., 27 Aug. 1908. National column.

Mrs. Fred Werges received the sad news the fore part of the week, that her mother had passed away. She was brought here from Tacoma, Wash. for burial. Her daughter Nan accompanied her remains here. All who knew Mrs. Powell will remember her as a kind friend.

The remains of Mrs. Jane Powell were brought here from the west, arriving this morning, and the funeral was held today at National, interment beside her husband in the old cemetery. She is survived by her daughters, Mrs. Fred Werges, of National, and Mrs. Nan Udell, of Tacoma, at whose home she died, and who accompanied the remains here for burial. - McGregor Times.
