A dispatch to the Dubuque Telegraph Herald states that while bathing in the Wisconsin river at Wrights Ferry, three miles above Bridgeport, Victor Clark, a young man from National, Iowa, about twenty-five years of age, was drowned at six o'clock Monday afternoon. His companion, Robert Schultz, and two young ladies, barely escaped with their lives in trying to save Clark, who slipped off a sandbar. Clark is the son of Mrs. Jed Clark, of National.
