Elkader Register & Argus, Thur., 18 June 1908.

At the home farm in Boardman township on Saturday evening, June 13th, occurred the death of Wm. Muench. He had been in poor health for some time, but his last illness was only a few days.

Mr. Muench was born Sept. 24, 1834, in Hillen by Recklenhousin, Munster, Germany. In 1863 he married Dina Deckerhoff, and with his family came to America in 1881. Eight children were born to them of which four survive. Two sons, Barney on the home farm, William in Cox Creek, and two daughters, Mrs. Geo. Heck, of Volga twp., and Mrs. Otto Gusta at home.

The funeral was held Monday morning at St. Joseph's church, Rev. J. F. Reilly officiating.
