GUTTENBERG, Iowa - Wallace M. Finnegan, 82, of Guttenberg, died Monday, Jan. 13, 2003, at home.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Guttenberg, with the Rev. Marvin Bries officiating. Burial will be in Guttenberg City Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Guttenberg.
Mr. Finnegan farmed for many years.
He was born on May 24, 1920, on the Finnegan family farm, rural Colesburg, son of John and Elsie (Meyer) Finnegan. He married April J. Walters on Sept. 1, 1943, at St. Patrick's Church, Colesburg.
He graduated from Colesburg High School. He served in the Army and participated in the Battle of the Bulge. He enjoyed fishing and was a collector of farm and construction equipment toys.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, April Finnegan; a son, Michael (Lynne) Finnegan, of Colesburg; a brother, John Finnegan, of Colesburg; and two grandchildren, Michelle and Brianna.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
