Elkader Register & Argus, Thur., 19 Mar. 1908.
At the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Keneally, in Cox Creek twp. on Wednesday, March 11, 1908, occurred the death of their son Edward Thomas, who was born in Cox Creek township Dec. 31st, 1887, being 20 years, 2 months and 10 days old at the time of his death. The cause of his death was that dreaded disease spinal meningitis, complicated with tuberculosis and brain fever. This is the fourth death in this family in about two and one half years, having been preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. He leaves to mourn his loss an aged father and mother, also two brothers, Earl and David, both at home, and two sisters, Julia at home and Mrs. Maggie Pugh, of Strawberry Point. The funeral was private, as the family were under quarantine. We have received an extended obituary but cannot get it into this issue. Our sympathy goes out to the stricken family.
(Note: WPA records show him as Thos. Edw. Kenneally, 1887 - 11 Mar. 1908, buried in Sacred Heart cemetery.)
