Elkader Register & Argus, Thur., 12 Mar. 1908. Guttenberg column.

Miss Anna Gussmann, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Gussmann, was born in Guttenberg, Dec. 6th, 1872, and resided here until her marriage to Wm. Troester, son of Paul Troester, of near Millville, February 27, 1907, whereupon the newly married couple made their home on a farm near Millville. Several months after the marriage Mrs. Troester became ill and failed to regain her health. when her suffering became intense she was taken to Finley hospital, at Dubuque, three weeks ago. But medical treatment and the tenderest care proved unavailing. She passed away at 8:30 p.m., Feb. 29th. Her industrious habits, kindly heart and pleasant ways, made her highly esteemed by all who knew her.

Her departure is mourned by her husband, parents and three brothers, Adolph, of Winona, Minn., Louis and William, of Guttenberg.

The funeral took place on March 4th at 2:00 o'clock p.m., from the home of her brother William, with services by Rev. J. Janzig, at St. John's church, of which she was a member. Interment was made in the City cemetery.
