Mrs. Marie C. Schroeder, 84, of 2200 Marion St., died at 4:08 a.m. Thursday, April 20, 2000, at Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Key West, Iowa. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Hoffmann-Schneider Funeral Home, 1640 Main St., where there will be a wake service at 7:30 p.m.
Mrs. Schroeder worked at the former Dubuque Packing Company before she became a mother.
She was born on June 13, 1915, in Fairfax, Iowa, daughter of John F. and Frances (Slattery) Coakley. She married Simon V. "Sam" Schroeder on Jan. 20, 1942, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Dubuque; he died Oct. 23, 1985.
She was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Parish and its altar and rosary society. She was an avid euchre player.
Surviving are a daughter, Mary J. Lucas, of Dubuque; three sons, Duane H. Russow, of Moline, Ill., and John C. (Ann) Schroeder and Dr. Paul J. (Elyn) Schroeder, both of Dubuque; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and a brother, Harold L. (Mary) Coakley, of Dubuque.
A Marie Schroeder Memorial Fund has been established.
