Elkader Register & Argus, Thur., 12 Mar. 1908.

Yesterday at Strawberry Point, a man named Tim Truair committed suicide by shooting himself. Truair had been a prisoner in the jail, sent over from Strawberry Point for thirty days. He was suffering from what appeared to be an incurable disease, but on the advice of physicians the Board of Supervisors had concluded to assist him in going to Iowa City for an operation. The man was released from custody yesterday morning and accompanied Sheriff Dittmer to Strawberry Point. He went to his sister's residence and having obtained a gun, went behind the water tower and killed himself. Besides his illness we understand he has had some domestic troubles.
