Elkader Register & Argus, Thur., 27 Feb. 1908.
We have to chronicle the death of Emilie Mabel Hattie, the youngest child of Ernest Haltmeier and his wife Christine, nee Drallmeier. The child was born June 2_th (looks like 20th), 1907, in Farmersburg, Iowa. About two months ago it had a severe attack of pneumonia, and the parents feared the worst, but the Lord spared the little one. But last week after only a few days of illness, when none thought the end was so near, without a struggle, on Friday evening, Feb. 14th, the little one passed away on the lap of it's grandmother, at the age of 7 months and 19 days.
Her loss is mourned by her parents, grandparents, and many relatives and friends.
On Feb. 17th her remains were laid to rest in the cemetery at Farmersburg, there to await the glorious resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.
(Note: The IGPP displays the gravestone photos of Mabel Haltmeyer and her parents in Farmersburg cemetery.)
