Elkader Register & Argus, Thur., 13 Feb. 1908. Elkport and Vicinity column.

Died, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Anna Hohman, Mrs. Anton Ritter, Thursday, February 6th, at the advanced age of 85 years. She and her husband came here from Germany at an early day and settled in this county. Her husband died several years ago, since which time the deceased has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Hohman. She also leaves two other daughters, Mrs. John Reick and Mrs. Henry Waterman, of Luzerne, to mourn her death. Funeral services were held at the Lutheran church Sunday afternoon at 2:00, interment in the Lutheran cemetery, Rev. Linnenbuerger officiating. One by one our old settlers are leaving us and it will not be many more years until all of them are gone.

(Note: WPA records show Fredericka Ritter, 1823 - 06 Feb. 1908, buried in the Elkport cemetery.)
