NIGG SERVICES HELD SATURDAY
Funeral services were held Saturday morning from the McBride funeral home in Guttenberg to St. Mary's church for Leo E. Nigg, 66, longtime proprietor of the Bowery Sweet shop here. Mr. Nigg died last Wednesday evening at the Guttenberg Municipal hospital following a brief illness.
The rites were conducted by Rev. A. J. Schmitz, pastor of St. Mary's church, and burial was in Mt. Olivet cemetery where military services were conducted by members of the local American Legion post; Mr. Nigg was a veteran of World War I.
Honorary pallbearers for the services were John Adam, Frank Fukey, Albert Pink, Edward Pink, L. A. Tujetsch and Harry Stoeffler, while active pallbearers were Dale Jaquette, Kenneth Saeugling, Kenneth McGuine, Raymond Frommelt, Clifford Frommelt and Alois Frommelt.
Born on March 25, 1896, in Dubuque, Mr. Nigg was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Nigg. In 1925, he married Helen Josephine Fukey in Chicago.
Surviving Mr. Nigg are two sons and two daughters, Raymond Nigg of Ann Arbor, Michigan; Harold Nigg of Guttenberg; Mary of Seattle, Washington, and Mrs. Dean Douthat of Ann Arbor, Michigan. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Jack Kregel and Mrs. John Degnan, both of Guttenberg, and two grandchildren.
Mr. Nigg was preceded in death by Mrs. Nigg and one son.
