HECK RITES HELD LAST SATURDAY
Aged Resident Passed Wednesday At Home
HERE 26 YEARSFuneral services were held on Saturday from St. Mary's church for Mrs. Josephine Heck, 82, who died last Wednesday evening at her home in Guttenberg. Burial was in Mt. Olivet cemetery with the following as pallbearers: George Auer, Lloyd Meier, Reynold Kann, George Heck, Jr., Henry Fassbinder, Jr., and Ardell Heck. All are grandsons of Mrs. Heck.

The services at St. Mary's were conducted by Rev. J. A. Dupont, pastor.
Mrs. Heck was born February 17, 1865, at Dortmund, Germany, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Muench. She came to America at the age of 16 years, and on March 6, 1886, she was married to George Heck who died in 1931. She had made her home in the Guttenberg community for 26 years.
Mrs. Heck is survived by five sons and five daughters: John F. Heck of Charles City; Mrs. Ed Auer of Monona; George of Garnavillo; William, Frank and Leander, all of Guttenberg; Mrs. Paul Meier, Mrs. Herbert Kann, Mrs. Henry Fassbinder of Guttenberg and Miss Mayme Heck of the home.
Family Survives
Mrs. Heck also is survived by two brothers and one sister, Bernard and William Muench, and Mrs. Otto Gusta, all of Elkader, as well as 38 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
