Joseph William Willman passed away at his home in Elk township Tuesday, Oct. 4th. The deceased was born in Jefferson township, Clayton County, Iowa, May 4, 1859, being 68 years and five months old at the time of his death. On March 20, 1894, he was united in marriage at Elkport, Iowa, to Ruth Davidson who survives him. To this happy union eight children were born, two of which passed away prior to the father, and six surviving him, as follows: Emma Fritz, Littleport, Iowa; Anna Moser, Osterdock, Iowa; Pauline, Henry, Arthur and Edward, at home. After his marriage, the deceased and his wife moved onto a farm in Jefferson township, where they resided for many years, and in the year 1922 they moved onto a farm in Elk township where they resided until his death. The deceased has resided in this vicinity all his life and was known as a kind, big hearted man, a loyal friend and an honest man. He was a kind husband and father and will be greatly missed from the home. He leaves many friends who mourn his death and who deeply sympathize with the bereaved family in the death of their beloved husband and father. A kind friend and an honest man has passed away. May he rest in peace. The funeral took place Friday, services being held at Wood M.E. church, Rev. Meyer conducting the services. Burial was made in Asbury cemetery.
