The funeral of Mrs. Gertrude Pohle, who passed away at her home in this city on September 19, 1927, was held on Wednesday of last week, and was largely attended by relatives and friends from far and near. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. D. D. Welch at the Pohle home. The body was laid to rest in the City cemetery. Deceased was born at Cassville, Iowa, a daughter of August and Martha Prior, on Nov. 9, 1878, and therefore was 48 years, 10 months and 10 days of age at the time of her death. On Dec. 24, 1901, she was married at Cassville to Dr. Edward J. Pohle of Guttenberg. Soon after her marriage she came to Guttenberg with her husband to reside, where the remainder of her life was spent. Mrs. Pohle was a faithful member of the M.E. church, Pearl Chapter No. 143, O.E.S., and a charter member of the Ingleside club. She had been ill for some time when the Angel of Death called her to the Great Beyond. Her death is deeply mourned by her husband, an aged mother, Mrs. Martha Prior of Guttenberg, one sister, Mrs. R. W. Fallis of Prairie du Chien, Wis., and many other relatives and friends by whom she will be sadly missed.
