Mrs. Henry J. Heilman died Thursday evening January 28th at the age of 70 years. Again we chronicle the death of an old resident, Mrs. Henry J. Heilman after a painful illness of cancer.
Hannah Wilhelmina Reddewig was born in Hellese, Hanover, Germany, August 13th, 1838, and came to this country at the age of five years, settling at Galena, Ill., there she was united in marriage to Henry J. Heilman, July 16, 1856.
To this union were born seven children, four girls and three boys. The family came to McGregor 43 years ago on November 13th, 1865.
Mrs. Heilman, accompanied by her husband, left last fall for Sigourney, Iowa, the home of her daughter, Mrs. Wertz, and it was hoped would be benefited by the change. Later she was brought home and all tender care and medical skill was sought for her comfort, the children coming from their distant homes to assist and be with her in the closing weeks of her life.
She is survived by the aged husband, son Frank who resides at home; Mrs. Burton Wertz of Sigorney, Iowa; Mrs. Augusta Booth; Mrs. James Forristell and Ernest W. Heilman, of Bozeman, Montana.
The funeral was held from St. Mary's church Saturday morning at ten o'clock, Father Lundon offficiating.

Hannah Wilhelmina Roddewig, born in Hellese, Hanover, Germany, Aug 13, 1838, died at her home in McGregor, Jan 28, 1909.
Deceased came to this country with her parents when a child of five years old, locating first at Galena, Ill.
July 16, 1856, she was married to Henry F. Heilman, and they came to McGregor soon after, and have since made this their home. Seven children were born to them, one, Henry J., passing away in early manhood, on Oct. 1st, 1890. The other six, with their aged father, mourn the loss of a kind and loving mother.
They are Mrs. Freeman, of Bozeman, Mont. (now in Germany); Mrs. Augusta Forristel; Mrs. Maud Booth and Ernest Heilman, of Bozeman; Mrs. Lottie Wurtz, of Sigourney, Ia. and Frank at home.
For months, Mrs. Heilman has been a great sufferer, skilled physicians and trained nurses were of no avail to assist the loving care to relieve her sufferings.
A wife and mother whose whole life has been one of devotion will be missed keenly. The "children" gathered about her bedside and have watched tenderly - they were always her "boys" and "girls", tho now grown to mature years with boys and girls around their own firesides. Long ago they passed from the little home circle. Business cares and their own firesides encroached upon their time, may have robbed mother of their companionship, but she was the same, rejoicing in their successes and grieving over their misfortunes.
A most united family has the Heilman family been, and the sympathy of all is unusually strong over the loss of this member. The aged husband and father will miss the unfailing companionship. We extend our heartfelt sympathy to him especially.
The funeral services were held Saturday at St. Mary's church, Rev. Father Lundon officiating, with burial in the Catholic cemetery.
