Benhart Rugland, son of Asle and Helga Rugland, was born on the old Rugland farm in Marion township fifty-seven years ago. He was baptized and confirmed in the Marion Lutheran church. Mr. Rugland grew up and lived on the home place until the death of his parents, after which he lived with his brother Gunder for several years. His last years were spent in working in various places near Gunder and for several months recently he visited with his sister in Canada. The last month of his life he spent at the home of Thore Kirkejorden, at which place he died the morning of June 16, at 1:30, at the age of fifty-seven years, the result of heart failure.

He leaves to mourn his death one sister, Mrs. Moses Ledue of Elise, Manitoba, Canada, and one brother, Gunder, of Wagner township. His father, mother and one brother, Norve, and two step-sisters and one step-brother preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held last Saturday.
