Clayton County Register, Thur., 21 Apr. 1927.

Elmer Lester Adney, of McGregor, put a 38 caliber revolver into his mouth and shot a hole through the top of his head Sunday afternoon, dying instantly. He was 26 years of age and had always been a hard-working, steady, reliable young man. No reason can be given for the deed. He is survived by his parents and several brothers and sisters. The funeral was held Tuesday.
