Elkader Register & Argus, Thur., 16 Oct. 1919. Local News column.
Mrs. S. V. Jack received a letter from Miss Ella Ford of Park Ridge, Ill., the first of the week telling of the death of Mrs. Monroe Snedigar at her home in Bartow, Florida, on October 6th, after a long illness. Mrs. Snedigar was formerly Fannie Davis, and was born in Elkader Dec. 14th, 1859, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lou Davis, pioneer residents of this place. She was married to Monroe Snedigar, the son of Fielding Snedigar, another Elkader pioneer, in December 1876. Her husband survives, with one son Louis, who lives at Miami, Florida. Two brothers, Will of Hitchcock, S.D., and Timothy also survive. Many of our older residents have warm memories of Mrs. Snedigar and will sorrow with the relatives at her death.
