Portwine, Margarite 1918 - 1919

Elkader Register & Argus, Thur., 14 Aug. 1919.

Margarite Portwine, the infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Portwine who reside three miles north of Elkport, was born Nov. 12, 1918, and passed away Aug 6, 1919. She was therefore 8 months and 25 days old. All that loving hands could do to ward off death was done but to no avail. She leaves to mourn her death her father and mother and two sisters, Ruby and Carmen Portwine, besides hosts of relatives and friends by whom she will be sadly missed. Her remains were laid at rest at Bethel Cemetery at Osterdock Sunday Aug. 10, 1919.
