Elkader Register & Argus, Thur., 18 Dec. 1919.

Nicholas Meyer was born in East Eaton, Erie county, New York, October 17, 1850, and died at his home on the farm east of Elkader on Tuesday, December 9, 1919, at the age of sixty-nine years and two months.

When still a child, deceased came west with his parents and settled on a farm east of Elkader. On February 5th, 1877, he was united in marriage to Celia Judy and to this union were born eight children, namely: Charles, Henry, Frank, Bernard, William, Leo, George and Josephine.

Funeral services were held Friday forenoon in the St. Joseph's church with Father Taken officiating, and interment was made in St. Joseph's cemetery.
