Elkader Register & Argus, Thur. 8 May 1919. Strawberry Point column.
Wallace, the infant son of Mr. and Mrs. E. Schriner, passed away last Friday evening after a brief illness. He was born Jan. 10, 1918, at Strawberry Point. His parents will keenly feel their loss because of the sweet and happy temperament which their little son was developing. The young life has been snatched away and God in His wisdom has seen fit to take this tender plant and rear it where sorrow is unknown. Besides his parents he leaves to mourn his death, one sister, Margaret, and one brother, Clayton. Short services were held at the home Saturday afternoon conducted by Rev. Wells, after which the parents and their children left for Burlington, Iowa, where interment was made.
Beautiful white flowers covered the little white casket but the loveliest of all was the beautiful rosebud that the Heavenly Father plucked for the home over there. We call it death but -
There is no death. The stars go
down,
To Rise upon the other shore,
And bright in Heaven's jeweled
crown
They shine forever more.
