Elkader Register & Argus, Thur., 1 May 1919. Strawberry Point column.
Word came here from Oelwein Wednesday afternoon announcing the death of Ruth Smith, the nine year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B. O. Smith formerly residents of this place. The little one had been sick with scarlet fever. Their son Bert is quite sick with the disease but from last reports is some better.
