Elkader Register & Argus, Thur., 24 Apr. 1919. Elkport Personals column.

The sad news of the untimely death of Mrs. Wm. McTaggart, the beloved daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Kriebs, was received here last Wednesday morning and the remains were brought to Elkport Saturday for burial. The funeral which was largely attended was held at the Catholic church on Monday, Rev. D. Minogue officiating. Interment was at Mount Harmony cemetery.

Mrs. William McTaggart, nee Gertrude Kriebs, was born in Elkport on August 13, 1892, and was united in marriage to Mr. Wm. McTaggart on Nov. 26, 1914. She removed with her husband to Rochester, Minn., where the happy couple made their home. There were born to the union four children: Ellen Mary, William Joseph, Robert George, and John Francis, who with their father are mourning the death of a dearly beloved one. Mrs. McTaggart leaves to mourn besides her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. George Kreibs, one sister, Mrs. Sam Younkman, and three brothers: Frank Kreibs of Beresford, S. Dak., Mr. and Mrs. Asa Kreibs of Elkport, and Harold Kreibs of Iowa City.

Mrs. McTaggart was home on a visit four weeks ago and her many friends here did not think that this would be the last time that they would see her alive, but death claimed her. Death was caused by pneumonia and the bereaved husband and children and the entire family have the heartfelt sympathy of the whole community. May she rest in peace.

(Note: The surname Kreibs/Kriebs appeared in the article as presented here.)
