Elkader Register & Argus, Thur., 20 Feb. 1919. Strawberry Point column.
The funeral service of Miss Fannie Marsh occurred at the home Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. E. D. Wells, pastor of the M.E. church.
Fannie Lizzie Marsh was born on a farm seven miles northwest of Strawberry Point, Oct. 29, 1866, and died Friday, Feb. 14, 1919.
All her life the deceased had lived in and near the home. She has suffered recently from paralytic strokes which finally caused her death. The mother still lives at the age of 86, the father dying Feb. 15, 1913. Besides her mother there mourns her passing, three brothers, George D. Marsh of Strawberry Point; Clarence and Laurence Marsh of Cedar Rapids; and three sisters, Mrs. Hattie Loomis, of Brainard, N.D.; Mrs. Jennie Ferguson, of Seattle, Wash., and Mrs. Lotte L. Morley of Beaver Dam, Wis. One sister dying in infancy and the other Mrs. Mae Cooley of Dubuque passed away Sept. 15 1912. One sad thing about it was that the sisters were quite sick and unable to be present at the funeral.
