Christian August Stickford, son of Christian and Christina Stickford, was born in Garnavillo township, on April 26, 1889, and died near Quiney, Minn., on January 21, having reached the age of 29 years, 8 months and 25 days.

His early education was received in the Garnavillo schools. In the spring of 1904 he was confirmed at St. Peter's church by Rev. Bunge. For the past year he had been making his home with relatives in Minnesota. About three weeks ago he was taken sick with influenza, later pneumonia developed.

He was preceded in death by his mother, who died in his childhood, his father's death occurred in 1913.

Those surviving are his eight brothers Henry and Fred, of Lewiston Mich.; John, of Canistota, S.D.; Ben, of Manly, Iowa; William, of Eyota, Minn.; Charles, Ed and Arno of Garnavillo; three sisters, Mrs. Lottie Kohenuz of Manly; Mrs. Christinal Broker of Eyota, Minn.; and Nannie Luepke of Farmersburg,, and many relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held on Friday from St. Peter's church, Rev. Bosholm officiating.
