Jasper Elledge died at his home in Elk township at the age of 65 years and 23 days, after a very short illness of heart trouble.
Mr. Elledge was born Dec. 15, 1853, at Nashville, Tenn., and came to the state of Iowa in 1869, here he was married in 1878 to Miss Ida Bell Lewis who survives him. To this union were born eleven children of whom three preceded him in death.
There remains one daughter and eight sons: Boon Elledge, Independence, Mo.; Jerry and Russell, of Butte, Mont.; Elgin of Wailand, Mont.; Ida, of Seattle, Wash.; Jay, of Chatfield, Minn.; and Lyman and Bert at home, besides numerous friends. Interment was at Ashbury Cemetery.
(Note: It appears the paper erred in the number of sons who survived him.)
