Elkader Register & Argus, Thur., 16 Jan. 1919. Strawberry Point column.
The death of Mrs. D. L. Peck, nee Miss Mabel Boots, occurred at her home a mile and a half north of town Friday morning. She had just recovered from an attack of influenza when her husband had a relapse from the same disease and while trying to take care of the chores she too suffered a relapse. Mr. Peck and two small children, one about a year and a half old and a baby less than three months old, are on the road to recovery with the disease. Mr. and Mrs. Peck came here from Morley about two years ago and have made many friends. The body was taken to Morley, Iowa, Saturday morning for interment. She leaves besides her husband and children, her mother, brother and many friends to mourn her death.
