One of the sad deaths resulting the past week from Influenza, is that of Edward Ryan, only son of Mr. and Mrs. P.J. Ryan, living just east of town. A stout rugged young man, with scarcely a thought of illness, until he contracted the flu which developed into pneumonia, and eventually claimed it's victim after a week's illness.
He was but 20 years old, just on the threshold of manhood, with the brightest of prospects ahead of him, and his taking away will be deeply mourned by the community.
His mother who has been critically ill with the same disease is still in a dangerous condition, making it a doubly sad affair for the family. The funeral is being held at St. Patrick's church today.
