Alpharetta Kaster Moine was born in Wisconsin, October 9th, 1852. She came with her parents to Iowa in the early 60's at the age of ten years. They settled at Manchester, where they resided for some time, when the family removed to this vicinity, which was ever afterward the family home. She was united in marriage to F. W. Moine, Feb. 28th, 1871. There were four children born to them: John and Arthur Moine, of Des Moines, Iowa; Mrs. John King and Mrs. Clarence Nace, of Strawberry Point. One daughter died in infancy. There are eight grandchildren. She passed to her reward Oct. 6th, 1913, in the 61st year of her age. Funeral services were conducted by her pastor, Rev. O. M. vanSwearingen. The remains rest in the beautiful cemetery in our city.
