Joseph Eveleth was born in Lowell, Mass., April 25th, 1928, and died at his home in Volga City, Aug. 14th, 1913, aged 85 years, three months and nineteen days.
He came to Iowa about 18_8 (looks like 1858 or 1868) and has spent most of his time in Clayton county. He leaves to mourn his loss one son, William, of Ames, Arizona; one daughter, Mrs. Burrington, of Volga City; one brother, A. A. Chapman, of Belmont, Iowa; one sister, Mrs. Davidson, of Salt Lake City, Utah; two granddaughters, Eva and Winifred Burrington, and many friends. His wife preceded him nearly six weeks ago.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Jennings. Remains were laid to rest in the Volga cemetery.
