Nels J. Cold, who resided east of town, passed away early on the morning of July 4th, 1913, at the age of fifty-five years. Mr. Cold was born in Norway and came to this country when nine years of age with his mother and four sisters, his father having preceded them to this country. They made their home in Wisconsin, but in 1881 deceased came to Clayton county, where he has since resided. Of late years he has been engaged in farming and when ill health overtook him he went to St. Paul, Minn., where he took treatment. He returned recently, seemingly much benefitted, but, early in the morning of July 4th, he was taken suddenly ill and in twenty minutes was dead. Funeral services were held at the Gunder church Monday and interment was made in the cemetery there. Deceased is survived by his wife, his mother, two sisters and two brothers, residing at Cambridge, Wis., and a host of relatives and friends who will mourn his passing.
