Many of our readers will learn with regret of the death of Seymour Barrett, Sr., at his home in Sheldon, Iowa, Sunday morning, July 20th, after a brief illness.
He was born in Read township, this county, about sixty-two years ago and grew to manhood here. He was married to Miss Mary Howard, of Littleport, and twelve children were born to them, six of whom, four sons and two daughters, survive to sorrow with the mother over the loss of the husband and father. One brother, Thomas Barrett, of Castalia, and a sister, Mrs. Joseph Collins, of Elkader, are also living.
About twenty-five years ago Mr. Barrett, with his family, moved to Sheldon, Iowa, where he has been quite successful and where he was highly respected as an honest and upright citizen.
We extend our sympathy to the bereaved family.
