Died at Pierre, S.D., April 25th, 1904, John Lane, of South Omaha, Nebr.
He was born in Sperry township near Volga City, Oct. 12th, 1857, and was the son of John and Bridget Lane, both having died some years ago.
He was married to Nora McQuillen, of Harlan, Iowa, in 1881, and has since resided in South Omaha, where he was engaged in the grocery business. He had been in poor health for the past year and went to Dakota in hopes of benefit, but had been there but three weeks when he died.
He leaves a wife and two children to mourn the loss of a loving husband and father, besides three sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Wm. Daly and Mrs. Joseph McLoughlin, of Omaha, Nebr.; Mrs. Thos. Cowley, of Lawler, Iowa; Frank, of Mederville, Ia. and Dan, of South Omaha.
The funeral was held Thursday April 28th, from St. Mary's church in South Omaha, and was attended by a large number of sympathizing friends. May he rest in peace.
