Albert J. "Al" Hefel, 52, of North Buena Vista, Iowa, died at 8:55 p.m. Tuesday at Mercy Medical Center (Dubuque, Iowa).
His wife, the former Dorothy Curtis, died March 23, 1963.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at North Buena Vista, with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 10 p.m. Thursday at Behr's, where the Scripture Wake Service will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday.
Mr. Hefel was born in North Buena Vista, and was last employed with the Chicago, Milwaukee and St. Paul Railroad. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Holy Name Society.
Surviving are two sons, Chris D. of Dubuque and Steve A. of North Buena Vista; three grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Leo (Fran) Errthum of Holy Cross, Iowa, Mrs. Nora Ruden of Guttenberg, Iowa, and Mrs. Art (Clara) Ludovissy of Dubuque, and two brothers, Edward and Frank Hefel, both of North Buena Vista.
(Note: In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by a son, Clark R. Hefel, who died 1 July 1973.)
