Elkader Register & Argus, Thur., 27 Mar. 1913. Littleport column.

Grandma Stemmer died at the home of her son, Wm., east of town, last Saturday. Her funeral was held from the residence, burial taking place at Communia. She was an old and highly respected resident of the vicinity and while her death was not wholly unlooked for, it never-the-less came as a shock to her many friends and neighbors. The family has the sympathy of the entire community in their bereavement. We are at this writing without further particulars.
