Elkader Register & Argus, Thur., 6 Mar. 1913.

From the Jackson (Minn.) Pilot we take the following:

"Fred Eggimann was born at Wasen, Kanton Bern, Switzerland, Aug. 27, 1848. He came to America with his parents in June 1862 and settled in Clayton county, Iowa, where he grew to manhood. On March 20, 1884, at Clayton Center, Iowa, he was united in marriage to Miss Dora Heuer, the happy young couple coming immediately to their new home near Jackson. To this union four children were born, William resides in Middletown township, Bertha, who died at Spencer, S.D., in June 1908, and Herman and Albert at home. Mrs. Eggiman died February 4, 1894, and Mr. Eggiman was united in marriage the second time on December 4, 1898, to Mrs. Fredricka Tessien. Besides his widow and children, Mr. Eggiman also leaves four step-children: Mrs. Frank Krause, Louie, Nell and Edward Tissien; two brothers, Jacob, of Elkader, Iowa, and Rudolph, of Bruno, Minn.; three sisters, Mrs. Chas. Felkers, of Walnut, Iowa, Mrs. Louise Walter, of Luana, Iowa, and Mrs. Barbara Lembke, of Council Bluffs, Iowa. Mr. Eggimann was a gentleman of unquestioned honesty, a good neighbor and an enterprising citizen. His home life was model and his thrift and prosperity is known to all. His death is deplored by all and the sorrow in his passing is manifest on every hand.****

The following relatives from out of town were present at the funeral Tuesday: Messrs. Will and George and Mary Walter, of Luana: Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Eggimann and daughter Louise, of Elkader; Mr. and Mrs. Charley Felkers, of Walnut; Misses Lottie Heuer and Ella Funk, of St. Olaf, and Henry Glawe, of Aurelia, all of Iowa."
