Elkader Register & Argus, Thur., 20 Feb. 1913. Elkport and Vicinity column.
Our community was terribly shocked Monday, when the sad news reached us that Thomas Conley met an instantaneous death at the home of his sister, Mrs. J. D. Funk, near Edgewood, when a shot gun, which he had, was accidentally discharged and tore off the upper portion of his head. The funeral was held Wednesday at the Catholic church, Rev. Father Minogue officiating. He leaves to mourn his untimely death, two sons and a daughter, besides his aged mother, two brothers and three sisters and a number of other relatives and friends. The sympathy of the entire community is extended to the bereaved relatives in their sad affliction.
