Knudt Olson was born in H____gdal, Norway, March 25, 1826, and passed away at the home of his son, O. K. Olson, Feb. 4, 1913. Deceased came to Rock Prairie, Minnesota, in 1848 and to Iowa in 1850. In the year 1853 he went to California but did not like the gold fields and returned to Iowa the following year and has made his home in Clayton County ever since. New Year's day 1856 he was married to Miss Mary O. Rotegard. Seven children, three sons and four daughters, were born to Mr. and Mrs. Olson, and there are now living 28 grandchildren. Deceased was preceded to the grave by his wife, who passed away some years ago.
